Welcome to the HES Library Book Blog! This is a space where students and teachers can blog about their favorite books.
Keep these things in mind as you write:
- Make sure you give the AUTHOR’S name and the TITLE of the book.
- Don’t give away too much about what happens in your book…you want others to be surprised when they read it!
- Tell us WHY you like the book you’re writing about.
- Include your FIRST NAME and your GRADE on your comment. (For Example: Caroline – 3rd Grade)

Hi, I’m Lexie and I’m in 5th grade! I am reading the book The Stolen Trophy. It is an awesome book! I don’t have a favoite book but I
like a lot of them the best and this is one of them! The author of this book is Micheal Jan Friedman. I like this book because it is an interseting mystery! It is a AR book and is worth 3.0 points! So go check it out of the library and read this awesome WishBone mytery!

I have just finished reading “How Good Do You Want To Be?” by Coach Nick Saban. Coach Saban wrote the book after his team had won the National Championship at LSU. In the book, he explains many of his philosophies on coaching and how they can be translated into daily life use. I really enjoyed seeing Coach Saban’s ideas on how to be a champion in sports and in life. His book reminded me of how important it is to strive for excellence in everything we do. ROLL TIDE!!!!

My Favorite book is Return of the Mummy by R.L. Stine. It is a Goosebumps book. I really like them, but the are long. I could get a book that had a lot chapters, but I like the chapters to be a little shorter. I have only gotten 2 Gooosebumps books from the library, but I hope to get more soon. I have a Goosebumps book at my house too. The title is Welcome to Camp Nightmare. The beginning of it starts out when a household goes camping…I won’t tell you the rest so you can read it for yourself. You should check some Goosebump books out!!!

My favorite book is Hannah Montana Hold on Tight. The funniest thing I like about this book is Oliver was acting like he was a fruit fly and he keep messing up and they were playing Romieo and Juliyet. Miley had to play it with Oliver. It was so funny.

My favorite book is Say Chese and Die. RL Stine wrote this book. I like it because it is scary.

My favorite book is Feet. I like because it shows interesting pictures. Another reason because it tells you about the human feet and it shows good pictures.

My favorite book is “Alien Abductions”, this book gives information from things like UFO sightings and abductees around the world. I enjoyed this book because I have a strong belief in alien life SOMEWHERE out there in such a vast universe like ours. This book inspires kids imagination, and that is also why I enjoyed “Alien Abductions”.

My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is my favorite book because there is an unsuspected suprise at the end. You should read the whole series by J.K. Rowling before you read the 7th one.

My Favorite book is Romana and Her Father. It is about when her dad will not stop smoking and her mom is too tired to do any thing, and she needs a sheep suit for a play.

My favorite book is THE SEA OF MONSTERS. I like it because it has lots of monsters, and I love to read it any day, any time, and mostly all in my spare time. I take notes inside of my head while I am reading. If I had to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down I would deffenitly say thumbs up.

My favorite book is Goosebumps by RL stine. I think his best book is HOW TO KILL A MONSTER. There are two kids who go to see their grandparents in the swamp. Their is a monster in their house and the kids have to stop it.

My favorite book is 90 Minutes In Heaven. I like it because it talks about Christianity and it shows that God put you on this earth for a reason & Don Piper goes on a bridge one day that was rarely open & he went on it & a man who was in a freight truck was driving on the wrong side of the road & he killed Don Piper & he went to heaven.

Hey! my name is Connor, and my favorite book is Warriors. Since it is a series, I will just tell you a little about the ones that I have read… 1: INTO THE WILD, 2: FIRE AND ICE, and 3: FOREST OF SECRETS. The first book is about when Rusty talks his friend into letting him go into the forest. There he gets attacked by a clancat. After the battle of Rusty and the unknown clancat is over, the clan cats leader invites him into the clan. Rusty accepts.
Later on in the book, Rusty and the clancat, (Graypaw) get there apprentice names. At the end of the book they get their warrior names.
In FIRE AND ICE, Fireheart (Rusty’s warrior name) discovers that there is something wrong about Tigerclaw (the deputy) and Fireheart turns out to be right. Through out the second book Tigerclaw is REALLY mean. At the end of the book a big war breaks out between Shadow clan and Thunder clan.
In the third book, Fireheart feals very uneasy around Tigerclaw. I haven’t finished the third book yet, but I’m almost done. Well that is all that I can tell you right now, but I hope that you will read the WARRIORS series. You can find the warriors books at Books A Million and Barnes & Noble.

Hi! My name is Mrs. Allgood and I teach fourth grade here at Hueytown Elementary School. One of my favorite childrens’ author is Bill Wallace. He is a wonderful author who has written many books about animals. My favorite book that he wrote is called SNOT STEW. This book is narrated (or told) by the main characters, Kikki and Toby who are cats. Kikki and Toby are abandoned by their mom when they are very young. They are taken in by a family who has a young daughter and young son. The story tells of the adventures they have living in the house with humans. Being told from the cats’ perspective makes the book really humorous. I recommend this book for everyone. It is good for a few laughs. You can find this book at our school library. Hi! My name is Deshawn and my favorite book is “The Bald Bandit.” I like it because it is a mystery book. The aurthor is Ron Roy. The main characters are Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose. The setting is at Green Lawn. A Bandit has robbed the Greens Lawn Savings Bank! Dink and his friends are ready to help. When a private detective comes to Dink looking for the kid that videotaped the crime, the trio volenteers to find him. That’s all I can tell you for now but I hope you read my book.

My favorite book is “Thomas and the School Trip” by Rev. W. Awdry. I like the book because Thomas helps his friend Bertie. He gets a bath and is ready to do his work. He gets to take the school children on a trip.

My name is Bailey and I am in 2nd grade. My favorite book to read is the Guinness World Records. I like to collect the books each year. I think they are great and I learn new things when I read them.

My name is Janet and I am the mom of two boys who attend HES. My favorite book is Love You Forever. It is about a mother’s love for her son as he grows up. As a classroom teacher, I always read it to my class on Valentine’s Day. Now I read it to my sons when I get a chance.

My favorite book is “Put Me in the Zoo” by Robert Lopshire. I like this book, because it is about an animal that has spots that he can change. He can put his spots in a box or he can make them large. He is sad, because they will not put him in the zoo.

HI my name is Hannah. I am in the 2nd grade in Mrs. Williams room. I like to read books about Hannah Montana and High School Musical. One of my favorite books is “Mrs. Toggles Zipper.” It is about a teacher whose zipper gets stuck on her big, pink, furry coat. Everyone at school tries to help her. It is so funny, it makes me laugh every time. Happy reading!

My favorite book is The Magic Treehouse Civil War on Sunday by Mary Popen. You can learn a lot about the civil war in this book. Jack and Annie go on a lot of adventures. It is fun to read this book. Morgan Lee Fay is a magical librarian. When Jack and Annie found out that Morgan Lee Fay had a magical treehouse, Jack and Annie went back when the civil war started and they found out a lot of things.

“Where The Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, is an awesome book! I like it because the boy reminds me of myself. It’s about a kid named Max that gets sent to his room without his dinner, and uses his wild imagination to pass the time away. (I have a pretty wild imagination too.) Will his supper be waiting for him when he returns from the place where the wild things are? I guess you’ll have to read it and see. Also, the pictures in this book are very cool!

The book I read is “Junie B. Jones Loves Handsome Warren” by Barbara Park. I like this book because it’s about making a friend. Junie B. found out she had alot in common with Warren. Junie B. does alot of silly things to impress a boy. But she really just found a new friend.

My name is Blake Johnston. I am in Mrs. Robinson’s kindergarten class. I am going to tell you about a funny book my dad read to me tonight. The name of the book is “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat”. It was written by Lucille Colandro. I checked this book out at our school library. It is about an old lady who swallows a bunch of stuff. If you want to know why she swallowed all the stuff, you will have to read the book. I liked this book because it make me laugh.

I read the Magic Tree House book Night of the Ninja by Mary Pope. I liked reading and learning about the ninjas. It was really cool. I really liked the ninja master. It is a great book

My favorite book is the Warrior books by Erin Hunter. It is about clans of cats. Their ancesters speak to them about a new prophecy. It is so cool and a good book why dont you read it yourself!
